Pure Leaf Hot Loose Tea, Gunpowder Green Tea 5.8 oz

While this is not as strong as my usual "puts hair on my chest" black tea, it delivers a pleasant mildly intense flavor. That means I can skip the really brawny (or over-steeped) teas that have my preferred flavor, but that leave a strong earthy/woodsy aftertaste. This tea delivers the flavor less like a semi-truck and more like a Porsche. I was surprised. I keep a stock of at least 6 types of teas from Vanilla-Caramel (doesn't taste like either, but boy-howdy do I love it), to green, white, black, oolong, and sassafrass. I don't consider myself to be a connoisseur, just in my own way a tea "snob" recognising flavor is mostly subjective. However, this is one of the best teas I've ever tasted and that includes a selection obtained at a high-end shop in Paris (egads, the variety was mind-boggling and my luggage space limited). I continue to experiment, but will always have a supply of this tea in the cupboard. I'll bring the tea, you can bring the scones and jam. [winking smiley face]

This Pure Leaf Hot Loose Tea is the best one I ever bought through amazon, taking consideration of all factors, including tea quality, good taste and flavor, and its price. Unfortunately, it is discontinued.

My wife has recently been converted to whole leaf tea. She prefers the black teas and claims this one for the price to be a very good daily drinking tea. She only wishes came in organic which is the only reason it gets four stars instead of five.

Good flavor tea. I drink green tea daily and love brewing loose tea. This is an excellent choice for the flavor. The leaves are whole and unroll as they steep in water. No broken, powder leaves here, they don't need to be contained in a paper pouch. I drop them into my infuser, steep for five minutes and pull out the infuser to empty the leaves. No powder residue is left in the bottom of my pot. Love it!

I love this gunpowder green tea, actually i love the ritual of making tea, or coffee in a french press, which is how i brew both. not a tea ceremony or anything, just the calming relaxing ritual of using a french press. The tea itself is almost always full leaves when expanded, with an earthy clean taste. What i dont drink immediately, i put in my ice tea pitcher in the fridge! Buy this tea, you wont be disappointed.As always, i spend my own hard earned money on the products i review.

This gunpowder green tea is quite average. I’ve tried adding greater quantities of tea leaves but the tea develops a bitter taste without the full flavor of gunpowder tea. Perhaps my tea leaves were in the warehouse too long.

The taste is soft, not bitter, beautiful color. The tea leaves are twisted and open up beautifully when brewed. A good product.

This was a pretty good gunpowder green for the money. Still plenty of stems and twigs in the mix, but not the worst I've seen. Also liked that I didn't have to buy an entire pound just to get a decent price. Taste was good and it's very easy to mix with other teas for blends.
