Polished Skin
I keep this near my computer so that when my hands are free I can just pick this thing up and start massaging my face and neck in circular motions. Like most people, I don't have a lot of extra time for beauty treatments, so I am more likely to follow through with something if I can find a way to incorporate it into my daily activities. Brush beside my mouse pad is as easy as it gets. The brush: Beautifully sculpted brush, with a light stain that enhances the swirly pattern of the wood. The bristles are firm enough for the face, but feel too soft on other areas of my body, such as my hands. Bristles are plentiful and packed in with a pleasing density.Use: I massage my face and neck in circular motions for as long and as often as I feel like doing on dry skin. Feel free to skip a day or two if you've overdone it.I am a bit older, so using a facial brush in a shower (such as with the Clarisonic) is too damaging for my facial skin over the long run. I find that dry brushing my face and then emplementing a separate after-shower moisturizing routine is best. Thus, my goal when using this brush throughout the day is to bring circulation to my skin and to [hopefully] initiate some extra collagen production. The results: My, my, my! I have been so busy over the past year that I started really neglecting my skin. So I had to make up for lost time and those nasty little wrinkles that made their way to my eyelid and forehead areas. Sneaky bastards. After using this brush for several days, my skin is glowing, more even-toned, and the minor wrinkles are less visible (maybe a plumping effect?). My eyelids are looking waaay better, with less of the crinkly/fragile look and more of a smooth appearance instead. This is not the first time I have used physical labor to manipulate skin tissue, so I was already confident that I would see some sort of results before I started. But having used dry loofah brushing before as well as the Clarisonic, I have to say that this is my favorite method by far.To enhance the effects of the facial dry brushing, I will start derma rolling again soon as well. My current after-shower moisturizer is a combo of shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut oil. I am also experimenting with adding nutritional supplements, mostly softgel capsule contents such as Vitamins A, E and K, to my skin as well.I will update this post as relevant.

soooooooooo disappointed
I can't believe I was so excited to receive this and followed exact directions Drybrush upside down. And this is what it looks like after the first time I use it. Very scared because I ordered two other brushes from this company that are on their way. I will update this review in a week. The seller is trying to rectify this with me and talk to the dealer:) hoping this was just a bad brush

Hydrea Olive Wood Facial Exfolating Brush
Have heard about the benefits of using a brush to gentle exfoliate the skin. So I searched for one that would be gentle that i could use in the shower in the mornings. Found the Hydrea Olive Wood Facial Exfoliating Brush and from the look of it.....i thought it would be what i was looking for. I've been using this for i think over a couple of months. As I mentioned, i use this in the shower but i believe it can be used for anyone who does "dry" brushing. I use this with my Nutritive Cleanser (PerriconeMD) and it's been a great little brush. It has really helped smooth out the texture of my skin. There was a spot on my neck where my seat belt rubs that had turned very rough....even moisturizer didn't help. Though it took a few weeks, the rough spot is GONE. What i do is put a little bit of my cleanser on the brush, then add a little water and i start to VERY gently brush in circular motion switching directions a few times...don't press down hard on the brush. The bristles are so soft.....so you would never think it would do much but the combination of cleanser and water with this brush has been doing a fab job. The handle feels really comfortable in my hand too. I do suggest that you dry the brush as instructed; the bristles facing down.....because i think if you let the water sit .....major bacteria would grow at the base. It is a little more expensive than others I've seen.............but for me, it is totally worth it because of the quality of natural materials that were used. If you use wet as i do, just use the best cleanser that you currently. I'll be buying a couple of more......to give as gifts. I can't remember where it is made but i believe the maker is based in London.

Love the Hydrea Olive Wood Facial brush with super soft bristles :)
I love this brush, I've used it for dry brushing my face twice a week for a month. The bristles are very soft and still you feel the exfoliation, my skin feels a lot softer since I've started using it. I've used wet twice, after that I rinsed it well gently squeezed out the excess water and rearrange the bristles to stand perpendicular to the brush since they are soft, and then take it out of the shower and put it somewhere where it can air dry. It says on the box to leave with the bristles facing down while drying but this would deform them, you can to do that with brushes with stiffer bristles like cactus. I have the Hydrea London Dry Skin Brush with extra long cactus bristles (which I also love, that's the reason I bought the face brush since the body brush was so amazing) and in comparison the goat's bristles are way to soft to support the weight of the brush while drying. It has dried fine, in a ventilated area, leaving it on its side with something to support it so it doesn't slide. You could also find a way to support the brush with the bristles facing down but not resting on the bristles while it dries. The brush is excellent quality. To keep the brushes in perfect shape I never leave them in the shower. I keep them in the bathroom but never in the shower.

The bristles are soft, but not stiff enough to exfoliate. Also the bristles fall out every time I use it.

Does what it says, very well!
When this arrived (quite quickly), I thought, this is too soft, but I was wrong, when used with a face wash I could feel the gentle exfoliation and was really pleased, skin feels tingly and clean afterwards. Very pleased with my buyπ

very soft and effective
First time i used this brush to dry brush my face it felt like a joke... so soft it couldn't possibly be peeling anything! Only it was. And it wasn't only me noticing, either. :-)Only the delivery, which took longer than expected, keeps me from a 5 star reading.

Flat bristles
After just one use the bristles went all flat and matted and won't fluff up again. Shame as the handle is lovely.
